Take a step back and let people be the focus of the photo. Place a white background behind the product to make the photos look clean and consistent, and to eliminate distractions. You can use a white paper sweep or buy cardstock at a local drugstore or art store at an affordable price.
Additionally, you'll need a table to set the backdrop. If you have a preferred side of the face for photos, be sure to take a photo on that side. If you don't know which side is best, take three photos of yourself at the beginning of the session. Review the photos side by side and you'll discover that you have a favorite face.
